A die-cutting machine (automatic flatbed die-cutter) cuts the printed board sheet with a steel-rule die, adds creases where the carton will be folded and produces the box blank. Huatai models run at 7,500 to 10,000 sheets per hour with ±0.075 mm die-cutting precision. In this guide we compare the die-cutting, stripping, hot foil stamping and embossing machines of Huatai, for which we have been the official distributor in Türkiye and the Turkic Republics since 2024, using data from the manufacturer's catalogue.
What does a die-cutting machine do?
The die-cutter is the main machine that shapes packaging after printing. Depending on their equipment, Huatai models perform these operations:
- Die-cutting and creasing: The box blank is cut and crease lines are added where it will fold.
- Kiss cut: On self-adhesive labels the face material is cut while the liner is left intact.
- Stripping: Waste pieces and holes between the blanks are removed inside the machine.
- Hot foil and hologram stamping: Metallic foil or hologram film is transferred to the print with heat and pressure.
- Cold, hot and deep embossing: Relief is added to the surface; Braille embossing is also possible.
- Perforating and hot cutting: Used for tear lines and jobs that need cutting with heat.
Application areas highlighted by the manufacturer: self-adhesive labels, paper bags, carton boxes, PET, PP and PVC plastic packaging, hang tags and cards, and corrugated packaging.
B2 or 1050 format: which sheet size suits you?
The first decision is your press's sheet format. Businesses running digital presses and small offset presses choose B2-class die-cutters 600–860 mm wide, while those printing 70 × 100 cm offset choose the 1050–1060 mm format. Huatai's B2-class models:

Compact die-cutting for digital print: HT600 and HT600T
The HT600 is a compact, high-speed die-cutter developed for B2-format digital and offset prints: it cuts up to 10,000 sheets per hour and processes 80–1000 g/m² board and corrugated board up to 2 mm. For cards, carton boxes, ticket sets, labels, hang tags and stickers, it offers die-cutting, creasing, embossing, Braille embossing and foil stamping functions.

The manufacturer states that the HT600 and HT600T match sheets from presses such as the Heidelberg Versafire, Xerox iGen, Ricoh 7900, Heidelberg Speedmaster 52, Ryobi 520, Kodak Nexpress and HP Indigo 7K and 5900. A patented intelligent register vision system is optional; with it, speed drops to 6,000 sheets per hour. The HT600T adds hot foil stamping to the same frame and handles die-cutting, creasing, kiss cutting, Braille embossing, blind embossing, hot cutting and perforating; hologram stamping is optional. Our catalogue lists the Huatai HT600.
HT760 and HT810: speed, stripping and foil stamping in B2 format
The HT760 series is designed for die-cutting, creasing, kiss cutting and cold embossing of hang tags, labels, carton boxes, stickers and paper bags at 10,000 sheets per hour. It has a pneumatic lock on the die-cutting chase and an air-floating device on the die plate; German chains keep the gripper bars accurate, and chain length is adjustable. The HT760E adds a pneumatic plate lock, micro-adjustment of the die plate, motorised pressure adjustment and a torque limiter.

The stripping HT760P cuts and strips 9,000 sheets per hour with non-stop feeding and non-stop delivery; it can strip holes larger than 3 mm in diameter, and the stripping frame can be fixed in any position. For heavy work the HT810 series runs at 500 t pressure; the HT810T performs vertical three-axis hot foil stamping as standard, with six axes, hologram and a foil rewinder as options. It has Yaskawa servo foil feeding, an intelligent foil-saving system and an air-blow device that separates foil from paper.

The PRO HT860FS combines die-cutting, hot foil stamping and stripping in one machine with one-button adjustment: it cuts and stamps 860 × 610 mm sheets at 9,000 sheets per hour, works with 10 heating zones at 190 °C and uses 3 or 6 (optional) foil shafts. 6 criteria for choosing the right die-cutting machine
- Sheet format: The die-cutter's maximum sheet must cover your press's sheet: 600 × 420 mm for digital print (HT600), 788 × 546–860 × 610 mm for B2 offset, and 1050–1060 format for 70 × 100 cm offset.
- Operations needed: Only cutting and creasing, or stripping, foil and hologram stamping, or deep embossing? Combined models (PRO HT860FS, HT1060T) reduce the need for separate machines and work-in-progress stock.
- Pressure: Thick board, a large cutting area and embossing require high pressure; Huatai models range from 180 to 550 t.
- Real output: A machine cutting 9,000 sheets per hour processes 9,000 × 8 × 0.75 = 54,000 sheets in 8 hours at 75% efficiency; with 6 blanks per sheet that is 324,000 blanks per shift.
- Material: Most models cut 80–2000 g/m² board and corrugated board up to 4 mm; the HT600 series handles 80–1000 g/m² and 2 mm corrugated, while the HT1050A/B/G can be equipped for plastics and thin paper.
- Make-ready and service: Pneumatic chase locks, central alignment and quick-lock stripping dies reduce make-ready on short runs; access to spare parts and technical service determines long-term cost.
